One of the biggest lessons we have learned in business is that a great piece of clothing starts long before it reaches your wardrobe. 

It starts with the people who make it. 

Finding great suppliers is not as simple as scrolling through a catalogue and choosing the cheapest option. For us, it is about finding people we can build genuine, long-term relationships with and working together to create products we are proud to sell. 

That process can take time. 

A garment might look fantastic in a sample but feel completely different once it has been washed and worn several times. A fabric might look beautiful but not have the softness or movement we want. A fit that works in one size may need adjustments to work comfortably across a broader range of bodies. 

These are the details we have become increasingly focused on. 

Over the past few years, we have worked hard to strengthen our supplier relationships and become clearer about what we want from ETC clothing. 

Quality matters. 

Comfort matters. 

Fit matters. 

And we believe value matters too. 

We do not want ETC to become an inaccessible luxury brand. We want to create clothing everyday women can enjoy wearing while still improving the fabrics, construction and overall quality of the garments we offer. 

That means finding the right balance. 

Sometimes we will try something and decide it is not quite right. Sometimes a fabric can take multiple attempts before it feels the way we imagined. And sometimes a product takes much longer to develop than anyone outside the business would ever realise. 

Our vintage tee fabric is one of the best examples. Finding exactly the right feel became a journey of its own, taking years of testing and searching before we reached the fabric we use today. 

But when you finally put on a piece and immediately think, “Yes, this is it,” the work becomes worthwhile. 

As we look ahead, our supplier relationships will continue to be a hugely important part of ETC. 

We want to work with people who understand what our customers care about and who can help us create the comfortable, easy-to-wear and distinctive clothing ETC is known for. 

Because our goal is not simply to sell more clothes. 

It is to create more of the clothes you love wearing.
